Vail 2015

Frozen Freedom

Painstaking anticipation

Trees offer their vibrant golden treasure to Ullr

Days grow increasingly shorter….

Shred time playlists are created based on your favorite ski movie

You watch those movies religiously, while visions of pow dance through your dreams

First flakes descendfrom heaven

The sound of the snowplow alarm clock that sends the butterflies coursing through your tummy…

As you gear up, and shop early season sales, you can hardly contain your excitement

Lifts begin to turn,

You make your ascent as the adrenaline nearly seeps from your pores

Earn your turns

Earn your turns

It’s finally here, you strap in, pull your goggles down, as you skim atop the snow

Freedom is found once again

What feelings do you get out there in your own personal heaven?

Charter Sports offering Vail Pass Bike Tours, Dual Suspension Bike Rentals and Gondola Lift Tickets

Located just across the street, the Charter Sports has provided Vail Spa guests with discounted ski/snowboard and bike rentals for a number of years.

For the summer, they are offering 4-hour full suspension bike rentals and a bike haul lift ticket up the gondola for $55.

Recently our concierge staff also had the pleasure of doing a bike tour on Vail Pass with Charter Sports.

Vail Pass (10,617 feet) is a destination for cyclists across the nation. The Teva Mountain games hosts a half marathon and a road bike time trail up it. This year, Stage 3 of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will also incorporate our storied mountain pass.

Hardcore cyclists aside, just because you can’t climb thousands of feet in elevation on a carbon-frame road bike, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy all Vail Pass has to offer!

For about $50 you can rent a bike from Charter and get shuttled to the top of the pass.

Trips leave at 10am, noon and 2pm (if there’s overflow). You can request return transporation at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm. (Pick up can take 5 to 10 minutes longer). Or, you can brave the route home to the Charter Sports bike shop.

Please reserve in advance through the Charter Sports link above or call 888-295-9797. Bring a jacket or rain gear!

There aren’t enough superlatives to explain how incredibly fun this trip is! So, we’ve just posted photos of our trip. Cheers!
