Oktoberfest is here in Vail!

emotionheader

Munich comes to the streets of Vail in September for the world’s greatest celebration of beer, music and autumn: Oktoberfest! Dust off the lederhosen, throw on the dirndls and toast your steins to the world’s most popular party. Oktoberfest’s dual celebration weekends will happen in Lionshead Sept. 5-7 and Vail Village Sept. 12-14.

Emulating the more than 200-year-old celebration known by millions around the world, Vail’s Oktoberfest will delight guests for two whole weekends with Bavarian music and dancing, traditional fare, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing, Bavarian beverages and much more. Oktoberfest 2014 will see the return of many crowd favorites like bratwurst eating contests, Keg Bowling and the Oktoberfest Fun Run.

See Vail’s own Helmut Fricker playing traditional (and not so traditional) tunes on the accordion and alpenhorn in full traditional German attire! A crowd favorite for years and not to be missed.

Vail’s Best Summer Job!

We received this memo in our office today regarding Vail’s Best Summer Job!

“As many of you may know, this summer the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council launched a creative new program called America’s Best Summer Job. We selected a winner of this program through an online, social media contest. The winner, Benjamin Solomon, has been living in Vail since early June highlighting his experiences through the Vail.com blog and various social media outlets.”

Benjamin Solomon of Brooklyn, NY was the winner and the summer is off to a terrific start!  “This program is designed to help the entire community to spread the word and encourage trial of Vail this summer or remind repeat guests why they should come back. We encourage you to get involved in the program by following him on his social media outlets or by sharing information that is posted on the Vail social media channels.” -Kristin Yantis

We are excited and proud to announce that #VailBen will be staying with us July 21-25.

To follow what he has been up to &/or if you’d like to share his content:

While he is here, hopefully we can keep you all updated on his adventures while staying with us here at Vail Spa.
